Ambition, Redefined

Ambition doesn’t need to be grand. It can be all the minimal actions we take to bridge the gap between where we are in the present and where we want to be in the future.

Throughout their series Haikyuu!!, Haruichi Furudate continuously emphasizes that there is nothing uncool about trying our best. No one can truly laugh at or dismiss hard work. Enthusiasm alone may not get us very far, but if we try to

• Follow our curiosity (“Don’t think about what’s easy, think about what’s fun!” - Bokuto)

• Take measured steps (“I am built upon the small things I do everyday.” - Kita)

• Approach challenges from a different perspective (“I need to see the entire court, I can’t just endlessly chase after the ball!” - Hinata)

• Move forward from failure (“Don’t you dare look down! Volleyball is a sport where you’re always looking up!” - Ukai)

then we will likely get somewhere closer to where we want to be.

Even the “talented'“ and the “genius” do not get to where they are without any sort of effort on their part.
